When the Vatican observatory priest sees the appearance of a comet, the Church is sure that it confirms the eve of the Armageddon. Meanwhile, the USA President’s godson Robert Thorn is informed in the maternity in Rome by Father Spiletto that his wife Katherine has just lost her baby and she had troubles with her uterus and would not have another pregnancy. Spiletto suggests Robert that another just born child that lost her mother could be the substituted for his son, and Robert accepts the child and gives the name of Damien. Robert is promoted to ambassador in London after a tragic accident. When Damien’s nanny commits suicide in his birthday party, a substitute, Mrs. Baylock, comes to work and live with the family. Along the years, Katherine realizes that Damien is evil, while Robert is contacted by Father Brennan, who tells him that Damien is the son of devil. When the priest dies in a bizarre accident, the photographer Keith Jennings shows evidences to Robert that the boy is the Antichrist. They travel to the town of Megiddo to learn how the boy can be stopped.

Father Lankester Merrin thinks that he has glimpsed the face of Evil. In the years following World War II, Merrin is relentlessly haunted by memories of the unspeakable brutality perpetrated against the innocent people of his parish during the War. In the wake of all the horror he has seen, both his faith in his fellow man and his faith in the Almighty have deserted him, and he can no longer honestly call himself a man of God. Merrin has traveled far from his native Holland in a desperate attempt to try to forget and escape all the evil that he had witnessed there. While currently in Cairo, Egypt, he is approached by a collector of rare antiquities and asked to participate in a British archeological excavation in the remote Turkana region of Kenya. They have unearthed something extraordinary and unusual…a Christian Byzantine church dating from the 5th century, long before Christianity arrived in East Africa, and in inexplicably perfect condition–like it had been buried immediately after it was completed. The collector wants Merrin, an Oxford-educated archeologist, to find an ancient relic hidden within the church before the British do. Interested, Merrin agrees to take the job. But beneath the church, something much older and malevolent sleeps, waiting to be awoken. When the archeologists start excavating, strange things begin occuring, and the local Turkana tribesmen who were hired to work refuse to enter the site. Things only get worse and worse, ultimately resulting in madness and death. Merrin watches helplessly as the atrocities of war are repeated against another innocent village–atrocities he had hoped and prayed never to see again. Vincent Sforza works for a research company, and he has been put in charge of locating several people who were part of an old experiment from the 1970s, in which a group of college students were given a dose of a chemical called LOT-6. Apparently, the victims of the experiment have won a class action lawsuit and need to be found so that a check can be issued. Included on the list is teenager Charlene “Charlie” McGee, the child of two of the dead participants in the experiment. When Charlie was a kid, Charlie’s mother Vicky was murdered by thugs who worked for the Shop, the corrupt government department that wanted to do experiments on Charlie. Charlie’s father Andy was killed by John Rainbird, a killer who had been hired by the shop. Ever since then, Charlie has been in hiding to protect herself. When Vincent finally locates Charlie, he sets into motion a deadly series of events. It turns out that there really isn’t a class action lawsuit settlement. It seems that John Rainbird, who was thought to be burned to death, is still alive, scarred from the burns, and nutty as ever — and he’s looking for Charlie, because he’s still obsessed with her. Rainbird has been using the lie about a class action lawsuit to lure the original LOT-6 experiment’s victims out of hiding so these victims can be killed one by one. Charlie gets help from James Richardson, one of the victims of the LOT-6 experiment. The experiment has given James the ability to tell the future. When Vincent discovers that he’s been duped into luring Charlie back to Rainbird, Vincent also decides to help Charlie. John’s been working on perfecting the LOT experiments, and has created 6 young boys with powerful abilities. One has the power of suggestion, another can sense truth and deception, two can move things with their mind, one has the destructive voice from hell, and the most dangerous is a boy who can suck the life and energy from anybody or anything. And they’re after Charlie. Rainbird is also using these children to rob a bank as a test of warfare in the new decade. Now with Vince and James on her side, Charlie must decide whether to keep running, or fight Rainbird to the end.
